Regional Sales Manager at International Thermal Systems
Under the direction of the Sales Leader, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales orders for high temperature ovens and furnaces, from existing and new clients worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Secure new business opportunities utilizing prospecting skills and community/business networking to quote projects, gain customer commitments and obtain sales orders.
- Collaborate with the Sales Leaders and the Director of Marketing to develop sales order forecasts, sales strategies and product marketing methods.
- Personally generates sales leads through target lists provided, referrals, trade show attendance and inquiries.
- Gain customer commitments and obtain sales orders.
- Transmit quotes and estimates prepared by Applications Engineering to the customer. Follow up in a timely manner to obtain sales order.
- Respond to questions regarding product use or application through an in-person conference, phone call or written correspondence.
- Help to develop and maintain network of independent representatives both domestic and international.
- Refer technical or unusually complex question(s) from customer regarding product cost, application and problem to appropriate internal expert(s) who can best provide the information.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints/questions regarding terms and conditions of order.
- Drive new product and market development for the product line.
- Keep informed of competitor activities through review of information from customers or other sources.
- Maintain liaison with other departments through completion of sales cycle.
- Maintain in CRM current information on customers, leads, activities and sales pipeline.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial or Mechanical/Structural Engineering, or Thermal Dynamics.
- Related work experience in an Industrial or Capital Equipment sales role, usually acquired through 5-10 years of exposure.
- Experience in or exposure to the engineered-to-order heat processing equipment for a variety of industries is a plus.
- This is a technical position and an ability to learn, understand and competently communicate complex situations is required.
- Proven selling ability with excellent customer follow up, attention to detail, strong organization and efficient time management skills are required.
- Must be a self-starter and possess a strong sense of urgency, integrity & drive for success.
- Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to record and log information accurately.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a very fast paced, sometimes stressful environment and possess strong decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general office related software. (Ex: Microsoft Office and/or MRP/ERP System)
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective working knowledge of heat processing technology is a plus.

Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel a minimum of 50% domestic and international as required.
